Baseball fans inspired the formation of the Cooperstown Bat Company in 1981. From an idea poked, prodded, and examined with bleary eyes in the hours between midnight and 3 am in the basement and kitchen of our home, it grew to childhood in a barn and adolescence in a friend's garage in Cooperstown. In 1991 maturity led it to a real home in its very own building in Fly Creek (a suburb of Cooperstown). In 1995 we added a neat little retail store at 118 Main St., Cooperstown. Along the way we had figured out how to make beautiful decaled baseball bats and how to be a bat company with a difference.
