Common Proficiency Test(Paper- Pencil Mode):</strong></font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">1. All students registered for Common Proficiency Test Course onor before 6th October, 2009 with the Board of Studies of the Instituteand who have passed/appeared in 10+2 examination or equivalent will beeligible to appear in the CPT Test to be held in December2009.</p> <p align="justify">Similarly, all studentsalready registered for erstwhile professional education course - I andwho have exercised the option by applying to Board of Studies of ICAIto switch over to CPT Course on or before 6th October 2009 will beeligible to appear in CPT to be held in December 2009. </p> <palign="justify">Pending issue of registration number/letters,students are advised to submit their examination application formbefore the last date if they have already applied for registration toCPT course on or before 6th October, 2009. </p> <palign="justify">Students may inform their registration number laterbut before issue of admit card. The medium ofTest forOnline CPT would be Englishonly.</font></p><p><font size="1"><strong>Eligibility requirements to appear in CA CPTDecember, 2009.</strong></font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">(a) A candidate shall beeligible to appear in Common Proficiency Test to be held on 14thDecember 2009, if he has:</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">(i)Either passed the SeniorSecondary Examination (10+2 examination) orits equivalent or must haveappeared in the Senior SecondaryExamination (10+2 examination) or itsequivalent of a recognizedInstitution, and</font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1">(ii) Registered for CPT Coursewith Board of Studies of ICAI on or before 6th October2009.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">(b)A candidate who is already registered for ProfessionalEducation-ICourse with Board of Studies of ICAI and switched over toCPT course onor before 6th October 2009 will also be eligible to appearin DecemberCPT.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1"><strong>Requirement forPassing the Common ProficiencyTest</strong></font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Acandidate shall ordinarily bedeclared to have passed the CommonProficiency Test if he obtains at onesitting a minimum of 50 percentmarks in the aggregate of all the foursubjects/sections comprised inCPT (Examination), subject to theprinciple of negative marking.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">It is clarified that there isno requirement of securing minimum passing marks in a subject/sectionof CPT examination.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Therewill be negative markingfor each wrong answer. 1/4 (One Fourth) markwill be deducted for eachwrong answer. Please note that multipledarkened circles for a questionwill also be treated as wrong answer.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Anyfraction of mark inaggregate will be rounded off to the next fullmark. It is clarifiedthat there is no provision for improvement ofresult CPT examination inthe Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.</font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1">Therefore,such studentswho have once passed the CPT examination are not eligibletoapply/appear afresh/again in the CPTexamination.</font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1"><strong>Application Form for CPT Entrance Exam2009</strong></font> </p><p align="justify"><font size="1">Applicationsfor admission toCommon Proficiency Test is required to be made on therelevantprescribed form as contained in the Information Brochure,which may beobtained from the, </font></p> <p><font size="1">Additional Secretary (Examinations),<br> TheInstitute of Chartered Accountants of India, <br> ICAI Bhawan,<br> Indraprastha Marg,<br> New Delhi - 110002.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Onpayment of Rs. 600/- (Rs.500/- towards examination feeand Rs. 100/-towards cost of application form and Information brochure)perapplication form.</font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1">The fee for candidates optingfor Abu Dhabi, Duabiand Bahrain centres will be US $160 (US $ 150towards examination feeand US $ 10 towards cost of application form andinformation brochure)or its equivalent IndianCurrency.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Thefee for the candidates opting for Kathmandu (Nepal)centre are requiredto remit INR.950/- (INR 850/- towards examinationfee and INR 100/-towards the cost of application form and informationbrochure) or itsequivalent foreign Currency.</font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1">Since thecost ofInformation brochure containing Common Proficiency Testapplication formincludes the examination fee, no separate fee isrequired to be remittedat the time of submitting the filled inapplicationform.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">The Informationbrochure containing Common Proficiency Testapplication form will alsobe available in the Regional and BranchOffices of the Institute andcan be obtained there from on cash paymenton or from <strong>6th April,2009.</strong></font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">CommonProficiency Testapplication forms duly filled in may be sent so as toreach theAdditional Secretary (Examinations) at New Delhi not laterthan<strong>27th April, 2009.</strong></font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1">Applications receivedafter <strong>27th April, 2009</strong>shall not beentertained under any circumstances. Applications dulyfilled in will bereceived by hand delivery at the offices of Instituteat New Delhi andat the Decentralised Offices of the Institute atMumbai, Chennai,Kolkata, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad,Jaipur and Pune upto<strong>27th April, 2009.</strong></font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1">Candidatesresiding inthese cities are advised to take advantage of thisfacility.
