For admission to undergraduate courses at all sixteen IITs at present, located at Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mandi, Mumbai, Patna, Ropar, Roorkee and Varanasi, IT-BHU, Varanasi and ISMU, Dhanbad.
Reservation of Seats:
1.15% for SC and 7.5% for ST candidates with relaxed qualifying norms. Some SC/ST candidates, who do not qualify in JEE-2024, may be offered admission to the Preparatory Course of one-year duration provided.
(i) seats are available, (ii) Candidates satisfy minimum norms, and (iii) Candidates have not undergone the Preparatory Course earlier. Candidates successfully completing the Preparatory Course will be offered direct admission to the first year in the academic year. 2.For candidates belonging to OBC (Non Creamy Layer), 27% of the seats are reserved in all IITs, and ISM Dhanbad. For the purpose of reservation of seats in JEE (Advanced)-2014, a candidate will be considered as OBC only if he/she belongs to the non-creamy layer of this category. The soft copy of the category certificate issued after June 01, 2013 by a competent authority in the prescribed format (APPENDIX�5 or may also be downloaded directly from http://jeeadv.iitkgp.ac.in) is required to be uploaded during the online registration for JEE (Advanced)-2014. 3. 3% for Persons with Disability is reserved in each institute.For any type of disability (viz., locomotor, visual, dyslexia, speech, and/or hearing) benefit would be given to those who have at least 40% physical impairment. Leprosy-cured candidates who are otherwise fit to pursue the course are also included in this sub-category
Preferential Allotment of Seats:
Two seats in each institute are preferentially allotted to children of defense/paramilitary personnel killed or permanently disabled inaction during war peace time operations and who qualifying the General Category. IIT JEE 2024 Eligibility

The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE (Main) shall be limited to 03 (three) Candidates should NOT have accepted admission by paying full fees at any of the IITs, IT-BHU, Varanasi or ISMU, Dhanbad, through earlier JEE.
Qualifying Examination:
Candidates applying for JEE -2024 should have either completed or should be appearing in 2024 in anyone of the following qualifying examinations. The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi; etc. Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University. Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy. General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/SriLanka) at the Advanced (A)level. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University. Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in any foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 system. H.S.C. Vocational Examination. Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects. 3 or 4-year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
In case the relevant qualifying examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination at an earlier level.
Eligibility Criteria in Qualifying Examination
Candidates belonging to the GE and DS categories must secure 60% or more marks in aggregate in their Qualifying Examination. Candidates belonging to the SC,ST, and PD categories must secure 55% or more marks in aggregate in the Qualifying Examination. The percentage of marks awarded by the Board will be treated as final. If the Board does not award the percentage of marks, it will be calculated based on the marks obtained in all subjects listed in the marksheet.
If any Board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the equivalent marks, and submit it at the time of counseling. In case such a certificate is not provided by the candidate, then the decision of the Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) regarding his/her eligibility shall be final.
Candidates must produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counseling, failing which they will be disqualified.
Physical Fitness:
All qualified candidates will have to submit a Physical Fitness certificatef rom a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format that will be made available to them at an appropriate time. They will be admitted only if they are physically fit for pursuing a course of study at the participating institutes.

IITJEE 2024 Pattern of Examination
Question Papers
There will be two question papers, each of three hours duration. Both the question papers would consist of three separate sectionson Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
Questions in these papers will be of objective type, which are to be answered one specially designed machine-gradable sheet (ORS - Optical Response Sheet) using HB pencils only. Incorrect answers will be awarded negative marks.
Language and Font of Question Papers
Candidates can option for Question Papers either in English or in Hindi. This option should be exercised while filling the application form. It cannot be changed at any later stage.
Visually impaired candidates, on request, will be provided with questionpaperswith20%enlargedfont.
Calculating Aids
Use of log tables and any electronic calculating aids are NOT permitted in JEE-2024.
A candidate can submit application either on-line through internet or off-line through paper application.
(A) Off-line: A candidate can buy an application form with information brochure from any one of the designated branches of banks by paying Rs.500/-for SC/ST/PD/Female candidates (Yellow Color envelope) or Rs.1000/-for all other candidates (White Color envelope).
The Information brochure contains details regarding application procedure, syllabus of JEE, examination centers, courses available at various institutions, counseling, fee structure and other relevant information about JEE-2024.
(B) On-line: For online submission of applications, visit any of the websites given below and carefully follow the instructions given therein.
Application material can also be obtained, by sending a demand draft along with two self-addressed slips, from the "Chairman, JEE",IITBombay,Mumbai-400076; IIT Delhi, New Delhi -110016; IITGuwahati, Guwahati -781 039;IIT Kanpur, Kanpur - 208016;IITKharagpur,Kharagpur- 721302; IIT Madras, Chennai - 600036.IITRoorkee, Roorkee- 247667.
The demand draft of amount appropriate to category/gender must be drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favor of "Chairman, JEE" of the respective IIT payable at the corresponding city. Candidates applying from a broad should remit the amount in Indian Rupees. Application material will be sent by Ordinary Post. IITs will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay.
