Duration
of MBBS Courses: Duration of the course is 4 yearsand 6
months as per the Academic Calendar of Pondicherry University followed
by1 year of Compulsory Rotatary
Internship.

Eligibility Criteria
(i) The Applicant should be a
Resident Indian National.
(ii)
The Applicant should have studied and completed their course in
theschools located in Indiain the
preceding two years (except for those admitted against the
seatsreserved for foreign students nominated by the Government of
India).
(iii) He/She has
completed age of 17 years at the time of admission
(iv) The applicants should
have passed the qualifying examinations in themanner mentioned
below:
a.TheHigher / Senior
Secondary Examination or the Indian School CertificateExamination which
is equivalent to 10+2 Higher / Senior Secondary Examinationafter a
period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study
comprisingPhysics, Chemistry, Biology/Botony and Zoology (which shall
include practicaltests in these subjects) and with English at a level
not less than the corecourse for English as prescribed by the National
Council of EducationalResearch and Training after introduction of the
10+2+3 educational structure asrecommended by the National Committee on
Education and
b.Theapplicant must have
passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Botany &
Zoology and English individually and must have obtained a minimumof 50%
marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany &
Zoologyat the qualifying examination. For Scheduled Caste / Scheduled
Tribecandidates, the minimum marks in the qualifying examination will
be 40%.
c.TheCandidates who have
passed the qualifying examination other than thosementioned in the list
appended in Annexure - I will have to submit anEligibility Certificate
from the JIPMER before admission is finalised.Obtaining such an
Eligibility Certificate from the JIPMER is essential toforeign
nationals nominated by the Central Government for admission to
JIPMERM.B.B.S.

Prospectus with the Application Forms can be obtained against only
cashpayment of Rs.750/- for Unreserved/Other Backward Classes
Category(UR/OBC/P-UR/P-OBC)) and Rs.500/- for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled
