Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET)
Common Entrance Test ( CET - Maharashtra ) is conducted
bythedirectorate of Technical Education for all health
sciences,Engineeringand Pharmacy degree courses. The Government of
Maharashtrais appointeda Competent Authority for the MHT - CET for
eachstreams. Government of Maharashtra shall conduct a
singleCombined ?Common Entrance Test? MHT-CET-2009 for
allHealth Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy
degreecourses for the academic year
2009-2010.
Govt. of Maharashtra has
appointed Director,MedicalEducation and Research, Mumbai as "The
Competent Authority fortheMHT-CET-2009". The merit list of the above
said examination willbeutilized for admission in:

There is no choice among the questions,
i.e.allquestions have to be answered. The candidate desirous of
selectiontoHealth Science courses and BVSc & AH should appear
for PaperI& Paper II. The
candidatedesirousof selection to Engineering degree courses should
appear forPaper Iand Paper III and the candidate desirous of selection
toPharmacydegree course should appear for Paper I &
Paper-IIand/or Paper-III. 3. MHT CET
Exam2009 Syllabus: Syllabiof Physics, Chemistry, Biology andMathematics
for the MHT-CET-2009will be the same as for the currentyear for HSC
Examination (i.e March2009) of HSC Boards ofMaharashtra.
4. MHT CET Exam 2009Language of Question
Paper: Themedium for
examination shall be English orMarathi or Urdu for Physics,Chemistry
and Biology. However,Mathematics paper shall be in Englishonly. The
option once exercisedabout the medium by the candidate shallbe
irrevocable. 5. MHT CET 2009
ExaminationCentres: TheMHT-CET-2009 will be conducted at all thedistrict
headquarters of theState of Maharashtra. The MHT-CETexamination center
will be within thesame district from where thecandidate has passed / is
appearing at thequalifying examination
i.e.HSC/12th Standard examination. Forthe eligible candidates passing
qualifyingexamination from outside thestate of Maharashtra, the
CompetentAuthority shall allot theexamination center. The centre of
examinationfor candidates who havepassed their HSC (12th Std) or
equivalentexamination from aninstitution situated outside the state
ofMaharashtra (Candidateseligible under the Type B, Type C, Type D
andType F of Engineering andPharmacy Brochures) shall be
thedistrict/headquarter of the DivisionalAuthority where he/she
hassubmitted MHT-CET 2009 Application Form. Thecenter once allotted by
theCompetent Authority shall not be changedunder
anycircumstances. Maharashtra Common Entrance Test - MHT
CET Eligibility2009 Eligibility
for Admission toHealth Science Degree Courses:
1.The candidate must be an Indian National.
Personsof Indian Origin(PIO)/ Non Resident Indian (NRI)/Overseas
citizen ofIndia (OCI) arenot eligible. 2. Thecandidate must beborn on or before 31st
December 1992 to be eligible toappear forMHT-CET-2009. However, for
admission to Ayurved and Unanicourses,candidate must be born on or
before 1st October 1992. TheBirthcertificate indicating name of the
candidate, SecondarySchoolCertificate i.e. SSC or equivalent
examination certificate orSchoolLeaving Certificate endorsing the date
of birth will constitute avalidproof. 2.1. Upper age limit andnumber of attempts
criteria(to be implemented from Entrance Examination2011 i.e. Academic
Year2011-2012) 2.1.1. Upperage limit is 25 years as on 31stDecember
of the year of the entranceexamination. Further provided thatthis Upper
age shall be relaxed by aperiod of 5 (five) years for thecandidates
belonging to constitutionalreservation. (to be implementedfrom Entrance
Examination 2011 i.e.Academic Year2011-2012) 2.1.2. Thenumber ofattempts which a candidates can
avail at Entrance Examinationshall belimited to 3 (three) uniformaly
for all the candidates. (tobeimplemented from Entrance Examination 2011
i.e. Academic Year2011-2012) 3.Thecandidate must be medically fit and must submit
a certificate ofmedicalfitness at the time of Preference form filling
as perproforma. 4. The candidate
must havepassed theSSC or equivalent examination from an Institution
situated inthe stateof Maharashtra. (Please refer point 6. for
exception) 5.The candidate must have
passedthe qualifying examination i.e. HigherSecondary Certificate
(HSC/12thStandard) or equivalent examination,from an Institution
situated in theState of Maharashtra (Please refer7. & 8. for
exception) withEnglish, Physics, Chemistry and Biology(Botany &
Zoology) atthe time of admission. 5.1. Eligibility criteria ofQualifying
Examination for various courses 5.1.1. ForMBBS/BAMS:A
candidate belonging to Open Category musthave obtained not less than50%
(i.e. 150 out of 300) marks in Physics,Chemistry and Biology
takentogether at the HSC (or equivalent)Examination. A candidate
belongingto constitutional reservationbackward class must have obtained
notless Health Science DMER, Mumbai(6) MHT-CET-2009 Brochure than
40%(i.e. 120 out of 300) marks inPhysics, Chemistry and Biology
takentogether at the HSC (or equivalent)Examination. 5.1.2. ForBDS/BSc.
Nursing:A candidate belonging to Open categorymust have
obtained not less than50% marks in Physics, Chemistry,Biology and
English taken together atHSC (or equivalent) examination. Acandidate
belonging toconstitutional reservation must have obtained notless than
40% marksin Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English takentogether at
HSC(orequivalent) Exam. 5.1.3. For BHMS, BUMS, BPTh,
BOTh,BASLP and BP&O courses: Clause 5.1.1. is
notapplicable. Passing grade at HSC/12th Standard or
equivalentexamination ishowever necessary. 5.1.4.For admission
toBP&O candidates who have passed 12th standardexamination
withPhysics, Chemistry, Biology and / or
Mathematicsareeligible. 5.1.5. Foradmission
toBASLP, candidates who have passed 12th standardexamination
withPhysics, Biology, Chemistry and/or Mathematics and/orComputer
Scienceare eligible. 5.1.6.The candidateswho
are appearing for qualifying examination i.e. HSC(or equivalentexam.)
in February/March 2009 are eligible to appear forMHT-CET-009,however
they must fulfill the eligibility condition atPara 4.5 at thetime of
filling up of the Preference Form. 6. Exception for SSC (10th Std.
orequivalent examination):Candidate who has passed SSC
orequivalent examination from aninstitute situated outside
MaharashtraState and HSC or equivalentexamination from within
Maharashtra State iseligible for seekingadmission to the courses in
Health Science providedthat he/she isDOMICILE of Maharashtra.
7. Exception for SSC (10th) and
HSC(12th) or equivalent examinations: Children of
employeesof the Government of Maharashtra or its Undertaking :-
Childrenof employees of the
Government ofMaharashtra or its Undertaking postedon deputation or
transfer to aplace outside the State of Maharashtra,or transferred from
outside to aplace situated within the State
ofMaharashtra:- 7.1. The
children ofsuch employeesof Government of Maharashtra or its
undertaking who havejoined servicesince beginning at a place situated
outside the State ofMaharashtra butwho have been transferred to a place
situated withinthe State ofMaharashtra shall be eligible for admission
even thoughsuch childrenmight have passed the S.S.C.(Std. X) and/or
H.S.C. (Std.XII) orequivalent exam from the recognized Institutions
situatedoutside theState of Maharashtra, provided that such an employee
ofGovernment ofMaharashtra or its Undertaking must have been
posted/transferred/deputed at a place of work located in the State
ofMaharashtra and alsomust have reported-for-duty i.e. joined the
dutybefore the last date ofsubmission of Preference
Form. 7.2.The candidates belonging to
the aforesaidcategory at (1) shall berequired to produce the requisite
Certificatefrom the Office at whichsuch an employee of Government of
Maharashtraor its Undertaking hasreported for duty as a proof that such
employeehas joined the officeand/or reported for duty before the cut
off datefor eligibility i.e.the last date of submission of Preference
Form. Thecertificate shouldcontain full name of the employee,
designation,transfer/posting ordernumber and date, date of joining and
presentstatus of posting. A copyof transfer/posting order should also
beproduced at the time offilling the preference form. 7.3. Thechildren of such employees of Government
ofMaharashtra or itsUndertaking who have been transferred or deputed to
aplace situatedoutside the State of Maharashtra or who have returned
tothe State ofMaharashtra after initial transfer/deputation
shallbeeligible foradmission even though such children might have
passed theS.S.C. (Std.X) Health Science DMER, Mumbai (7) MHT-CET-2009
Brochureand/or H.S.C.(Std. XII) or equivalent examinations from the
recognizedInstitutionssituated outside the State of
Maharashtra. 7.4.The candidates
belonging to the aforesaidcategory at (3) above shallbe required to
produce the requisiteCertificate from the Office atwhich such an
employee of Government ofMaharashtra or its Undertakinghas reported for
duty. The certificateshould contain full name of theemployee,
designation, transfer ordernumber and date, date of joiningand present
status of posting. A copyof transfer order should also beproduced at
the time of filling thepreference form. 8. Exception for SSC (10th) and
HSC(12th) or equivalent examinations: Children of
employeesof Government of India or its Undertaking:-
8.1.The children of the employees of
Government ofIndia or its Undertakingshall be eligible for admission
even thoughthey might have passed theS.S.C. (Std.X) and/or H.S.C. (Std.
XII) orequivalent exam from therecognized Institutions situated outside
theState of Maharashtra,provided that such an employee of Government
ofIndia or itsUndertaking must have been transferred/posted at a place
ofwork,located in the State of Maharashtra and also must have
reportedforduty i.e. joined the duty before the last date of
submissionofPreference Form. 8.2
Thecandidatesbelonging to the aforesaid category (1) shall be required
toproducethe requisite Certificate from the Office at which such
anemployee ofGovernment of India or its Undertaking has reported for
dutyas a proofof the fact that such employee has joined the office
and/orreportedfor duty before the cut off date for eligibility i.e.,
the lastdate ofsubmission of Preference Form. The certificate should
containfull nameof the employee, designation, transfer/posting order
numberand date,date of joining and present status of posting. A
copyoftransfer/posting order should also be produced at the time
offillingthe preference form. 9. CET-Marks Eligibility For
Admissionto MBBS & BDS Courses: Acandidate belonging to open category must securenot
less than 50%marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB)taken
together atCommon Entrance Test i.e. MHT-CET-2009. A candidatebelonging
toconstitutional reservation (Annexure B) must secure notless than
40%marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) takentogether in
theMHTCET-2009. 10.
CET Marks for Admission toBAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BPTh/BOTh/BASLP/BP&O
and B.Sc.Nursing: A candidate will be selected on the
basis ofmerit in Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET-2009) to above
statedcourses. 11.Additional Eligibility For
BUMS: Candidate should havepassed SSC (or equivalent)
examination from the recognized board withUrdu as one of the
subjects. MHT CET
2009 Application Form 1. Mode of Sale:Asingle
Application form and three information Brochures for MHT-CET2009(Health
Science, Engineering and Pharmacy) will be available
atJuniorCollege/High School where candidate has studied for HSC
(12thStdexamination). Prescribed application forms as per the
requirementshallbe obtained by Head Master/Principal of the college
fromthePrincipal/Dean of the notified college in the district as
showningiven below. The cost
ofapplication formalong with the Information Brochures of
MHT-CET-2009and theExamination fee is Rs.700/- for open category, and
Rs.500/- forreservecategory candidate. This amount is not
refundable.
The
School/Junior Collegeshould submit two separatedemand drafts / pay
orders, one for opencategory candidates, anotherfor reserve category
candidates drawn infavour of "Competent AuthorityMH-CET, Mumbai," on
any scheduledcommercial Bank, payable at Mumbai,to the Notified College
whilecollecting application forms. Duly filledapplication form should
besubmitted by the candidate to the sameJunior College/School, from
wherehe/she has passed / appearing for HSCor equalient examination, on
orbefore the prescribed date. AlltheDefence category candidates who are
appearing/have appearedforqualifying examination (HSC or equivalent)
from outsideMaharashtraState and are otherwise eligible as per the
rules to appearatMHT-CET-2009, should obtain the brochures and
application formonpayment of fee of Rs. 700/- by Demand Draft/Pay order
drawn onanyscheduled commercial Bank in favour of 'Competent
AuthorityMH-CET,Mumbai' payable at Mumbai, from respective
DivisionalAuthorities(Refer Table under Rule 2.). 2. Instructions for filling
andsubmission of application form: Theapplication form must be filled by the
candidatein his/her ownhandwriting using black ink ball point pen.
Filling up ofapplicationform by the candidate shall be done under
active guidance ofthePrincipal or teacher authorized by the
Institution. Theapplication Health
Science DMER, Mumbai (9)MHT-CET-2009 Brochure formshould be submitted
by the candidate on orbefore the prescribed date,to the Principal of
concerned Jr. College/High school. Theapplication formscomplete in all respects shall
be submitted by thePrincipal ofSchool/Junior College to the Dean /
Principal of thenotified College ofthe concerned District as shown in
given below onor before the lastdate prescribed for the same.
Itwillbe responsibility of the Head
Master/Principal of HighSchool/JuniorCollege to verify and certify that
the informationprovided in theapplication form by the candidate is

Acandidate belonging to backward class fromMaharashtra state only,
iseligible for claiming seat under reservedcategory. 4. An incomplete applicationform will be
rejected.Application form sent by post/courier will berejected. The
candidateshall submit one and only one application form.In case,
candidatesubmits more than one application form, he/she shallbe
disqualified. 5. MHT-CET- 2009
AdmitCard& Receipt-cum-Identity Card: The Principal/Head of
theinstitutewhere the application form is submitted shall
issueReceipt-cum-Identitycard attesting the photograph of the
candidatewith his/her signatureand stamp after due verification. The
candidatemust preserve theReceipt-cum-Identity-card and must bring it
at thetime of MHT-CET-2009examination as well as at the time of filling
upof the preference formand admission. 6.The Admit Cards forthe MHT-CET-2009 will be
distributed by thePrincipal/Head of theinstitute where the Application
form wassubmitted. In case thecandidate does not receive Admit Card on
orbefore the prescribed date(or if he/she has lost his/her admit
card),he/she should approach theCenter Incharge of the district with
theoriginal Receipt cum HealthScience DMER, Mumbai (10)
MHT-CET-2009Brochure Identity Card forgetting a Duplicate Admit Card.
Please notethat the issue of Admit Cardis just an enabling provision
forappearing at MHT-CET examination anddoes not imply that the
