<span style="font-weight: bold;">National Entrance Examination for Design (NEED) 2024</span><br><br>The Institute offers Graduate Diploma Program in Design (GDPD) in its Heritage Campus, Ahmedabad.<br><br style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Number of Seats:</span><br><br>GDPD Graduate Diploma Program in Design 90 seats (including OBC & Other reserved categories)<br><br>4-year GDPD Program (includes a Foundation year) is offered in the following disciplines:<br><br> * Product Design<br> * Furniture & Interior Design<br> * Ceramic & Glass Design (Under the Faculty of Industrial Design)<br> * Graphic Design<br> * Animation Film Design<br> * Film & Video Communication<br> * Exhibition (Spatial) Design (Under the Faculty of Communication Design)<br> * Textile Design (Under the Faculty of Textile, Apparel and Lifestyle Design)<br><br><span style="font-weight: bold;">NEED 2024 Eligibility Details:</span><br><br>Candidates who have passed or who will appear qualifying examinations under Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalents like AISSCE/IB / ICSE, etc are eligible for NEED.<br><br>Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years (relax able by 3 years for reserved categories).<br><br>Admission is open to students who have passed or who will appear for qualifying examinations under the Higher Secondary(10+2), or equivalents like AISSCE/ IB/ ICSE etc.<br><br>Candidates passing the Institute's admission tests/interviews will be admitted, subject to passing their qualifying examinations before they join the Institute.<br><br>Competence in technical and related subjects will normally be considered an advantage. The medium of instruction for UG Program at NID is English.<br><br>Projected Number of Seats in GDPD: 90 (Includes OBC and other reserved categories)<br><span style="font-weight: bold;">NEED 2024 Application Form</span><br><br>Application forms along with the prospectus for the ensuing academic year will be made available on request from the second week of October on payment of Rs.1500/- (Rs.750/- for reserved categories) by a Demand Draft of any nationalized bank drawn in favor of the 'National Institute of Design' payable at Ahmedabad.<br><br>Forms downloaded from NID's website www.nid.edu along with required amount of DD drawn in favor of National Institute of Design payable at Ahmedabad will also be accepted.<br><br>Forms can also be obtained from select branches of Bank of India (listed below) on payment of Rs 1500/- towards the cost of the form plus Rs 30/- as bank charges. (Forms at confessional rates to reserved categories are available only from NID, Ahmedabad.) (NID reserves its right to cancel any of these centres).<br><br>Admission is on the basis of NID's method of selection, which extends beyond the students previous academic qualifications.<br><br>The NID Admission Committee systematically seeksevidence of the perception, attitude, aptitude, achievement andmotivation essential for a challenging and satisfying design career.<br><br>The objective of the tests and the interviews is to ascertain the above qualities. The tests at the various centers will consist of design aptitude tests.<br><br>Based on scores obtained from these tests, short listing of candidates to be called for second phase will be done.<br><br>The second phase of the admission procedure will consist of studio tests followed by personal interviews at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Gandhinagar.<br><br>All those candidates called for the second phase are required to attend the studio tests and interview, which completes the process of selection.
