<title>HTML clipboard</title><p style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;" align="justify"><font class="newstext" size="2"> <strong>Uco Bank</strong> on Apr 12 announced that it expects to cross Rs 2,000 billion mark business by the end of this fiscal and has identified SME and retail as the major focus areas, reports Economic Times.</font></p> <p style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;" align="justify"><font class="newstext" size="2"> At present, Uco Bank (Q, N,C,F)* has a credit portfolio of Rs 675 billion (as on Mar 31, 2009) and has a deposit base of Rs 1,000 billion. </font></p> <p style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;" align="justify"><font class="newstext" size="2"> The bank has seen its loan portfolio growing by a healthy 24% in FY 09 while its deposit base expanded by 22%. </font></p> <p style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;" align="justify"><font class="newstext" size="2"> The bank has also taken a conscious decision to reduce its dependence on expensive bulk deposits over a period of time. </font></p> <p style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;" align="justify"><font class="newstext" size="2"> Shares of the bank declined Rs 0.05, or 0.18%, to trade at Rs 27.90.
