The act of producing; the act of being produced; the total amount produced; the presentation of a theatrical work; an occasion or activity made more complicated than necessary; that which is manufactured or is ready for manufacturing in volume. The department within a publishing house responsible for print and paper buying and cost and quality control; in some cases has responsibility for typographic design also. Quality in business, engineering and manufacturing has a pragmatic interpretation as the non-inferiority or superiority of something. This is the most common interpretation of the term quality.
