Job Description
Job Description: Develop platform BIOS, reference code and related
documentation for Intel silicon products such as next generation
chipsets and processors. Responsible for authoring BIOS specifications,
creating chipset reference code and developing and/or supporting
platform BIOS for Intel's CPUs and chipsets. Work closely with Intel
silicon design teams and be responsible for all software and BIOS
related issues during the planning, development, and validation stages
of the program,
Desired Candidate Profile
You must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in
Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field with
more than three years of experience. Additional qualifications include:
- In-depth knowledge of System BIOS and PC architecture
- Expert knowledge in C and Assembly programming language
- Strong knowledge of PC internals details
- Ability to program in both real and protected mode
- System level debugging skills that enable the root causing of potential issues at the operating system level
- Strong low level debugging skills that enable the root causing of
issues at the BIOS and hardware level that arise during validation
testing of new processors and chipsets
- Working knowledge of the software engineering development process,
project life cycle, PC BIOS architecture and Mobile PC operating
systems
- Ability to work well in a diverse team environment as well as with cross site peers
- Ability to multitask
- Familiarity with American Arium*, In-Target Probe (ITP) and logic analyzers
- Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following BIOS fields:
Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI), Memory Algorithms,
Mobile Management and PnP
- Experience in mobile PC would be an added advantage
- Knowledge of Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) and/or Framework and/or Tiano* BIOS would be an added advantage
