We at GCI (Global Consultants Inc) are currently looking for MS-SQL Server DBA/Developer
Required Technical Skills:Database Design, SQL Queries, Reports, Alerts (DTS Packages)
Desired Profile 1. Provide coverage for all production servers running a SQL Server 2000 & 2005 RDBMS.
2. Provide support, during normal business hours, for all development servers running a SQL 2000 / 2005 RDBMS.
3. Participate in the initial design and implementation of production database servers.
4. Responsible for the software updates, capacity planning and maintenance of production and development SQL Servers.
5. Develop, implement and monitor SQL backup and recovery strategies.
6. Configure and monitor both snapshot and transactional replication between database servers.
7. Troubleshoot server performance problems.
8. Monitor database activity and performance on production and development servers.
9. Create, implement and administer SQL policy standards.
10. Write SQL scripts that create or modify database objects. (i.e. tables, triggers, stored procedures, and views, DTS Package, Reports)
11. Work with the Software Engineering staff in the data analysis and modeling process of creating new or modifying existing data structures.
12. Assist software developers in the development and tuning of Transact SQL code.
13. Create/Execute SQL scripts that insert, update and delete production data.
14. Utilize Data Transformation Services (DTS) to transfer data and objects between production, development servers and other non-SQL Server data sources.
15. Work closely with IT staff in issues related to database servers.
