A Combined Defence Services Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 16th September, 2012 for admission to the courses mentioned below.

The approximate number of vacancies across various courses is given below.
1. Indian Military Academy, Dehradun � 250 (32 vacancies reserved for NCC 'C' Certificate (Army Wing) holders)
2. Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala � 40 (6 vacancies reserved for NCC 'C' Certificate (Naval Wing) holders)
3. Air Force Academy, Hyderabad �47
4. Officers Training Academy (for men), Chennai � 175
5. Officers Training Academy, Chennai (SSC women, Non Technical) �15
Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status :
* For Indian Military Academy Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July,1987 and not later than 1st July,1993 only are eligible.
* For Navel Academy Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1990 (2nd July, 1988 in case of Naval Wing 'C' Certificate holders) and not later than 1st July, 1993 only are eligible.
* For Air Force Academy Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1989 and not later than 1st July, 1993 only are eligible.
* For Officer's Training Academy Male candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier 2nd July, 1987 and not later than 1st July, 1993 only are eligible.
Educational Qualification :
* For Indian Military Academy and Officer's Training Academy Degree of a recognised university or equivalent.
* For Naval Academy B.Sc (with Physics & Mathematics) or Bachelor of Engineering.
* For Air Force Academy Degree of a recognised University (with Physics & Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
Candidates who are studying in final year Degree Course and have yet to pass final year degree examination or equivalent examination can also apply for examination, but they will be required to submit proof of passing by the specified dates published in Commission's Notice for Examination.
Application Fee:
No application fee will be charged from SC/ ST/ Female candidates and the fee for General and OBC Candidates is Rs 100.
Selection Procedure:
The Competitive examination comprises:-
i) Written Examination
ii) Interview for intelligence and personality test
(a) For Admission to Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy.
