Chemtex International Inc., an Independently managed subsidiary of M&G Group (Milan, Italy) has over 50 years of experience in designing and supplying chemical process plants worldwide. A full service engineering partner, Chemtex has engineering, procurement and construction management expertise in man-made fibers, polymers, refining operations, petrochemical and specialty chemical facilities. The company maintains full service engineering capability at its main offices at Wilmington, North Carolina, Mumbai, India and Bangalore, India. Project sales and support offices are in New Delhi, Beijing and Shanghai.
History
Chemtex was founded in 1947 as "Rayon Consultants" by several ex-DuPont Employees. It became Chemtex in 1958 and was purchased by Mitsubishi Corporation in 1989. The M&G Group acquired Chemtex in December, 2004. Previously specializing in engineering man-made fiber plants, over the past 10-15 years Chemtex has diversified into chemical and petrochemical plant engineering. Total personnel as of December, 2004 are over 750. Chemtex International Inc., Chemtex Engineering of India Ltd. & Chemtex Consulting of India Ltd. are ISO 9001-2000 certified.
