SimTech was founded in 1991 with the goal to develop and market a state of the art heat balance code for the power industry. As a spin-off from Graz University of Technology, we could base our early work on several years of research and development in the area of modeling and analysis of power processes.
In 1992 we started commercial sales of the heat balance code IPSE. IPSE made it possible to create process models graphically by choosing components from a menu. IPSE was the first and for several years the only Microsoft Windows based heat balance code commercially available.
In 1996 we have expanded our activity by introducing the modeling package IPSEpro. Unlike traditional heat balance codes, IPSEpro is a completely open modeling environment that allows you to define your own component models. In 1997 IPSE has been merged with IPSEpro, making IPSEpro SimTech's key product.
In 2000 we have installed the first on-line optimization system based on IPSEpro. This was the first step in extending the focus of IPSEpro to the entire lifecycle of plants. In the following years we have expanded our activities to on-line monitoring and optimization solutions based on IPSEpro.
In 2001 the Service Group was formed to deliver solutions for clients with the need for specialized solutions. I
A growing number of industrial clients relies on our approach to combine a solid understanding of our clients' engineering and technical needs with profound experience in software engineering. We are proud of our experts' unique combination of skills in power engineering, chemical engineering and software engineering.
