Aptech Computer Education, the flagship brand of IT training company Aptech Ltd, on Sunday announced the launch of its UGC-recognised degree programme, B.Sc - AIT (Bachelors in Applied IT), in an alliance with Sikkim Manipal University.
"Aptech's alliance with SMU is a combination of formal and non-formal education and offers students an opportunity to attain UGC-recognised degree along with Aptech's certification," Pramod Khera, CEO and managing director of Aptech, said.
This is a three-year, six-semester programme at the end of which Aptech students will gain dual certification in the form of B.Sc - AIT degree from SMU and an ACCP certification from Aptech.
SMU does not offer this degree programme to non-Aptech students.
In addition to fresh entry, students currently pursuing Aptech's ACCP World Programme would also be able to enroll for B.Sc IT course through the lateral entry route and get a direct entry to the second semester of the B.Sc IT programme.
Speaking on the alliance, Janardan Jha, senior vice president of Manipal IT Education said "Today's competitive digital age seeks professionals of high calibre and updated skills to fulfill IT industry's requirements for trained manpower. The B.Sc AIT programme will propel students towards attaining careers in the IT industry."
