former governor of bihar and west bengal and mp (rajya sabha) a r kidwai on wednesday made out a strong case for harnessing information technology (it) to improve the quality of life, maximising output, income and employment, and creating proper work culture. inaugurating a workshop-cum-seminar on it under the auspices of the indian institute of management and information technology here, kidwai said it has changed the quality of life. he advocated quality it education and some sort of co-ordination among various software industries. he suggested short and long term demand and supply forecasting to keep pace with changing requirements of the society in the context of globalisation of the economy and openness of the system. minister of state for health akhilesh kumar singh said steps should be taken to reduce the gap between supply and demand for it in bihar and at the national level.
