Kurali is a city located geographically in the southeastern part of Punjab. It is 26 km away from the state capital Chandigarh. Kurali is situated on the national highway 21. This highway leads to Jammu and Kashmir. Towns in the proximity of Kurali are Kharar, Ropar and Morinda on respective three sides. This city was a very popular market for Jaggery and Groudnuts for a long period of time and it is a famous market for sunflower and sugarcane. Kurali is developed industrially as Government Industrial Area was developed around 15 years ago.
Kurali is approachable by both road and train transportation. The nearest airport is Chandigarh Airport, around 30 km away. There are very good educational institutes in the city. Chakwal Senior Secondary School is the oldest institute in the city and National Public school is the first English Medium school in the area.
