is a city situated in central Kerala, India. It is the headquarters of Thrissur District. It is known as the 'Cultural Capital of Kerala'. The city is also a major financial and commercial hub. It is famous for the Thrissur Pooram and has a large number of well-known temples. It was officially called Trichur, its British colonial name, until the 1990s.
