J.M.J. College for women, Tenali is a well-known Educational Institution in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. It is a Christian Minority Institution run by the Sisters Society of Jesus Mary and Joseph founded by Fr. Mathias Wolff S.J. in the year 1822 in Holland for the education of young girls. In India the Society was shaped in the year 1904 on February 24 in Guntur and now formed into three provinces. J.M.J. College for women, Tenali was inaugurated in the year 1963 in Tenali, a small town surrounded by many villages to impart education especially to rural girls. This is the only women's college in this area, which caters to the needs of rural girls from agricultural families. Even though it is a Christian Minority Institution, the admission is open to all communities without discrimination of caste, creed or religion. It is offering +2, Undergraduate programme in discipline of Arts & Science, Post-Graduate programme in MCA, M.Sc. Chemistry, Mathematics. 17 Courses are offered at U.G. Level through 20 departments.
