Padma Ghosh has been in profession since 1988 and is presently working as an independent consultant/economist, corporate trainer and a part-time Senior Lecturer.
Until August 2004, Padma was head of the Research and Development Division of the Board of Investment, the investment promotion arm of the Government of Mauritius. The R&D Division is made up of 2 departments: (i) Project appraisal, and (ii) Research. The Project Appraisal section is responsible for evaluating the Business Plans/feasibility studies of new projects as submitted by promoters and ascertaining their eligibility for the Investment Certificate applied for. Certificates generally entitle the holders to incentives. The Research section carries out research on various topics in the field of investment in general and FDI in particular. Padma has also acted as Officer in Charge of BOI, in the absence of the Managing Director.
Prior to that, Padma led the Management Consulting department of KPMG Mauritius.
She has over 5 years experience in the field of management consulting. She was previously Senior Consultant with Deloitte & Touche. In the consulting field, Padma has worked on the following types of assignments: feasibility studies of projects in various sectors, organisational and systems review, performance improvement, economic studies, and a number of Government and parastatal assignments.
