College of Teacher Education, Andhra Mahila Sabha owes its origin to the dedicated efforts and dynamic leadership of Padma Vibhushan Dr.(Smt). Dr..Durgabai Deshmukh, the Founder President of AMS, the first voluntary organization to work for the cause of women and their empowerment . She established the college in 1971 on receiving permission of Govt of A.P. and got affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad. The aims and objective of the college is to organize pre-service teacher education courses for primary, secondary and Early Childhood School teachers, teachers of Special Schools (H.I) for language teachers and for teacher educators.
