Anna Institute of Management has a Disaster Management Cell established in the year 1995, which is designated as a Nodal Agency for imparting Disaster Management Training to officers of various departments of Government of Tamil Nadu. The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India provides support for the Disaster Management Cell. The Cell is also conducting Training Programmes, sectorwise, on various aspects of disasters as recommended by a high-powered committee, constituted by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The Disaster Management Cell has so far conducted 159 Disaster Management Training Programmes benefiting nearly 4000 officials, since its inception.
