Aryabhat Polytechnic is a premier Co-Ed. Polytechnic under the Department of Technical Education, Govt. of Delhi. The Polytechnic was established in year 1962, and is located in a spacious campus on G.T. Karnal(adjacent to Shakti Nagar Telephone Exchange) and hence is well connected by buses and easily accessible.
The Polytechnic offers six full time Diploma courses in generic branches of engineering i.e. Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, as well as in emerging areas of technology i.e. Mechanical & Maintenance, Architecture and Garment Fabrication Technology. The polytechnic is also running three Part Time Evening Diploma course in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engg for working personnel, under Continuing Education Programs. It has a student strength of about 1500.
It has a spacious campus, well equipped Laboratories, Workshops, Studios, Class rooms ,tutorial rooms, drawing halls large play fields etc, and a library . The Diploma certificates are awarded by Board of Technical Education and a constant upgrading of the curriculum is undertaken. Hence the Polytechnic lays strong emphasis on strengthening Industry Institute Linkage by organizing Industry/Field Visits, Expert Lectures and liasioning with industries at various stages of curriculum development and implementation. Industry based Project are integral part of all curriculum. The Polytechnic is also committed to its social liability. Along with Full time and Part time Formal Courses, the Polytechnic also runs Free Non-Formal, Job- oriented Short term courses for the under privileged section of society, school dropouts and the Physically Challenged under the Community Polytechnic Scheme and under the scheme for �Persons with Disability� (PWD) schemes of MHRD.
