Bharati Vidyapeeth's Jawaharlal Institute of Technology is the branch of "Bharati Vidyapeeth"- the educational empire with the mission,
"Social Transformation through dynamic Education",
Established by renowned Educationist with an unparalleled vision and foresight, Dr. Patangrao Kadam (Chancellor, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University). Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Technology started functioning from 9th July 1983. Today the institute is located in lush green and beautifully landscaped sprawling campus of 70 acres in the vicinity of katraj on Pune Satara road.
The institute building is of about 25000 sqm.. Built up area comprising of classrooms. Laboratories, seminar halls & administrative area.
This is the biggest polytechnic in Maharashtra having an intake capacity of 480 students for first year.
The institute is affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education ( MSBTE ), Mumbai.

DURATION OF THE COURSES
The duration of the full time Diploma Courses in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Technology, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics Mechanical Engineering, Production/Technology will be as prescribed by the Board of Technical Examinations, Maharashtra State. It is 3 years (Non-sandwich Pattern) at present. The examination will be conducted by the Board of Technical Examinations, Maharashtra State, Mumbai, at the end of each academic year. Award of the Diploma will also be given by the same board.
