Bosco Institute of Information Technology (BIIT) is the Professional Education Unit of BICS InfoTech. It was established in 1998 for Education, Training and Placement for Rural Youth in Information Technology at Yellagiri Hills. BIIT shares in the vision, mission and core values of its parent body (i.e. BICS InfoTech). The Professional Practice is imparted to our students to enable them to master the choice of their profession by directly working with IT practitioners in various divisions of BOSCO ITS. BIIT preparing the students to become employable in IT industry and obtain degree from IGNOU on part-time basis. Towards this, BICS InfoTech signed a contract with CDAC, Pune (Centre for Development in Advanced Computing, an autonomous body of the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India) to provide skill based training in IT. In the next year, a Special Study Center of IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) was constituted at BICS InfoTech, Yellagiri Hills to enable students to do their degree programme better. From 2000 onwards, while preparing the students for BCA, BIIT offers an additional Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGDIT), adhering to rigorous academic discipline with a special curriculum designed according to the growing need of the software industry.
