The Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India has merged Electronics Research & Development Centre, India (ER&DCI), National Centre for Software Technology (NCST) and Centre for Electronics Design & Technology, India (CEDTI), Mohali with C-DAC. This merger of the societies into C-DAC came into effect on December 16, 2002. The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Mumbai (formerly known as National Centre for Software Technology) is a scientific society of the Department of Information Technology involved in Research and Development into the area of Software Technology. With an objective to create focus on Advanced Information Technologies, High-end Academics & Training relevant to R&D societies.
