The Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and technology(CIPET) is an independent educational body set up under the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals,Ministry of chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India excelling in providing top class technical knowledge in the field of plastic engineering .The Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and technology(CIPET),Chennai s the forerunner amongst its peer and was set up in 1968 under the UNDP assistance ship. Being a pioneer in the field of Plastic Engineering, the Institution has shown versatility in other allied spheres like Mould design and Fabrication,CNC Tooling,Plastics Processing,testing,Quality Control equipped with state of art facilities. It also has a CAD/CAM/CAE center. The courses CIPET are presently affiliated to either Madras University or Anna University.
Functioning under the aegis of Shri. K AR Subramanian the deputy director the Chennai center is a domicile for the corporate office for all the other 15 constituent centers. Apart from providing technical education to freshers the corporate office also imparts corporate training and planning,finance and administration and also business development.
