Dr. Hima Sekhar was born on 26-7-1957 to K.Ramunaidu & Sannammadu. He secured state First Rank in Intermediate Examinations, conducted by Board of Intermediate Education, Hyderabad, during the year 1971-73. He passed B.E, with distinction from A.U. Collage of Engineering Visakhapatnam, during the year 1973-78 and got two gold medals, one for securing highest percentage of marks in his branch of study (Mech.) and another for securing highest percentage of marks in all disciplines put together.He won many laurel and his rare achievement securing 100%marks in M.Tech. (Heat &Mass Transfer) from Indian Institute Technology, Kanpur is still unchallenged. Dr.Hima Sekhar served as faculty in Mechanical department in Andhra University. College of Engineering during 1981 to 83. His insatiable thirst for knowledge and his relentless pursuit of excellence made him to be an intellectual in the world. He went abroad to USA and received his his Ph.D from Pensylvenia University. Philadelphia, USA And Postdoctoral from Cornel University, lthaca. He established a company, AC Technology in lthaca and served as its Director of Research and development. He published 125 articles in various journals of international repute, also as a member of Board of studies and academic councils of various Universities of U.S.A and he was reviewer of several journals including ASME of international reputation in Engineering and Technology. This is great honour bestowed on an India. He visited all developed countries like France, England, Canada, Japan, China, Netherlands, Germany etc.., and was keynote speaker in various seminars He authored a book titled �Advances in Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) of Polymer Processing� presented at International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition, Chicago, Illinois published by American Society of Mechanical Engineers. The illustrious career of Dr.Hima Sekhar came to an abrupt and premature end on 29th March, 1995, when he was 37 years old. He died on a road accident in U.S.A.
