There was a long felt need for a women's college in Gudur for quite sometime. This desire was fulfilled in October 1981 with A.Syamasundar Reddy and Jayalakshamma coming forward to start a college .It was their donation of 2 lakhs on behalf of Savera Charities, that made it possible to start Duvvuru Ramanamma Women's College. The humble beginnings of the college started off in the building of VVURK.Yachendra Raja of Venkatagiri with 56 students and 6 staff members. To begin with the college offered Intermediate , B.A and B.Com courses. The Principal and staff take great interest to develop the standards of the students.Classes and practicals run according to schedule.Weekly tests and terminal examinations will be conducted.An opportunity to students for expressing their creative,critical and artistic sensibilities is provided through various cultural an literary activities.
