Founded in 1993.

In 1996 GIMT was taken over by Educor (Naspers Group).
In 2007 GIMT was acquired by ExecuPrime Investments, chaired by Jerry Vilakazi - CEO BUSA.
GIMT became the first and currently the only 100% black owned business school in South Africa.
