Gopichand Arya Mahila College was established by DAV College Managing Committee in May 1972 in the cherished memory of late Seth Gopichand Ahuja a leading businessman and landlord of Abohar who had firm faith in the teachings of Swami Dayanand Saraswati and ideals of Arya Samaj. With the initial donation of Rs. 2.5 Lac from �Seth Gopichand Ahuja Charitable Trust� this college came into existence to cater for the educational needs of women of this area.
