The institution is honoured to be named after the renowned advocate, Statesman and freedom fighter late Shri Motilal Nehru. The foundation stone of its magnificent edifice was laid by the First President of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad on 19th July 1958. The institution is endowed with unique natural scenic beauty. The college is housed in the huge building comprising three separate blocks. It has a team of 85 well qualified faculty members headed by the Principal and an equally efficient group of supporting staff. Affiliated to Barkatullah University Bhopal the college has a curriculum designed by the University. It offers a wide range of combinations of subjects at UG level besides vocational courses in Computer Science, Electronics, EEM, Seed Technology, Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, Biochemistry & Biotechnology at UG level which has attracted meritorious learners to this institution. It offers PG Level courses in 9 subjects, namely Botany, Chemistry, Defence & Strategic Studies, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology & Microbiology. The institution has been an active centre of research activities. The college offers and admits candidates for research work in all 8 subjects. A number of faculty members are approved Research Guides who have been constantly guiding and motivating students to pursue research activities. Besides, the college organizes a member of national seminars/workshops in various subjects from time to time. he college has a separate building for the study centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), the prestigious open university with a national presence and global reputation. The institution was assessed and accredited by NAAC Bangalore in Feb. 2004 and was awarded ?B+? status. As required by NAAC a quality assurance cell has been constituted which comprises a team of 10 members, headed by the Principal.
