The school of legal studies, indian maritime university (IMU) will conduct the common entrance test (CET-LL.M) on June 19, 2011 at Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Pune. IMU-CET (LL.M) is a prerequisite for admission to the LL.M program in maritime law that will be offered at the chennai and cochin campuses from the August 2011 session. The LL.M is a two year masters program in maritime law that aims to provide a thorough grounding in all aspects of international maritime law. The curriculum includes specialized courses in shipping law and the law of the sea. The program aims to equip lawyers with the knowledge and skills required to make a valuable contribution to the international shipping industry. IMU has signed an MoU with the national law school of india university, Bangalore and offers a seminar course on the law of the sea there.
