Himachal Pradesh Medical College now known as Indira Gandhi Medical College. The College came into existence in the Year 1966 and is recognised by Medical Council of India. There are 31 specialised departments which are functioning in the IGMC with more than 100 faculty members and 173 senior Residence/Registrars. Modern medical facilities in Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Radiotherapy, Neurology, Nephrology, Plastic Surgery, Paediatrics Surgery, Cardiothrocic Surgery, Obst and Gynae, Neonotology, Urology, Neuro-Surgery, Gastroentology, Dermatology, ENT, Radiology, Orthopaedics, Nuclear Medicine Opthalmology are available in the institute which are of all India level. Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Shimla is affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh University and the college runs a number of Graduate and Post Graduate courses. Admissions to these courses are made as recognized/permitted by the Medical Council of India/Himachal Pradesh University strictly in accordance with the conditions laid down by the MCI and the State Government. |
