The Mohamed Sathak Trust is an educational body, established in 1973, by the philanthropic Mohamed Sathak family of Kilakarai, with the noble aim of promoting the cause of Higher Education. The objective of the Mohamed Sathak Trust is to promote Technical, Scientific and Management Education and to train the Students belonging to all levels of Society, particularly the youth of the backward communities, to meet the Technological and Managerial requirements of the country. In 1991, with the sole aim of spreading Management Education, the Mohamed Sathak Trust, approached the Government of Tamilnadu and the University of Madras for establishing a College of Arts and Science in the City, Chennai. The Government of Tamil Nadu accepted the proposal of the Mohamed Sathak College of Arts and Science, under the Self Financing Scheme
