The college started functioning from the academic year 1998-1999 after approval by AICTE and is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University (JNTU) Hyderabad with intake of 180 B.Tech. students in four branches of Engineering viz CSE, IT, ECE, EEE. The sanctioned intake has progressively increased to 483 in 2002-2003 over five branches of engineering, the fifth branch being Mechanical Engineering. The intake also includes 60 Post Graduate students of MCA and lateral entry of Diploma students in the second year B.Tech. courses. A sixth course of Instrumentation and Control Engineering with in take of 60 students is also sanctioned from the academic year 2003-2004.
