A group of like-minded and dedicated persons interested in the cause of medical education and social service, with an intention to develop the backward area of Kolar district, registered the SRI DEVARAJ URS EDUCATIONAL TRUST in 1985 headed by Sri R.L. Jalappa, Member of Parliament and champion of the co-operative movement.
To realize their dream, as a sequel, they started SRI DEVARAJ URS MEDICAL COLLEGE, Tamaka, Kolar, Karnataka - INDIA, in the year 1986. Through this College the Trust seeks to make a significant contribution to Medical Education and Research, which is the primary need of not only this region but also of the entire country and humanity at large. The endeavour is to train students according to progressive international academic standards.
