V.S.S.D. college, was established in 1921 under the guardianship of Rai Bahadur Vikramajit Singh. From its very inception, the college was famous as college of commerce to awarded Diploma in commerce and was affiliated to Bombay University. Later the college got affiliation from Allahabad University in 1923 to award B.Com. degree. The classes for Bachelor's and Master's degree in different subjects began in 1925 and later in 1928 L.L.B. classes, affiliated to Agra University, were also started. In 1956 B.Sc. and in 1964 M.Sc. classes were begun. At present, the college is affiliated to C.S.J.M.U., Kanpur, which was established in 1967. The college was various faculties running in it which includes Arts, Commerce, Science, Education. Law and Physical Education. Apart from this a study centre for distant education affiliated to U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University is also running in college campus providing Diploma Courses in Journalism in Tourism, and in Financial Accounting. Courses for part-time B.Lib. and M.B.A. degrees are also run under it. The vast campus of the college with its beautiful landscape and central building on lines of ancient architecting is the living movement showing the vision of its founder; who was aware of the broad parameters of necessities while dreaming of a centre of learning.
