IIM-A: MNCs made highest offers
At IIM-Ahmedabad, the mainstay recruiters-investment banks and consulting firms-started the placement session. They are hiring in large number and they are offering salaries that are up to five times higher as compared to last year. There is a big change in the picture in last two years, just two years ago even IIM-A was forced to extend its placements session and struggled to place all its students with employers. Campus recruitments at the IIMs and other top B-Schools are closely observed by the other industries as it worked as standard parameters. In good years like 2009, many recruiters shy away from campuses.
ISB: Highest domestic consultancy offer
Global strategic advisory boutique The Parthenon Group, has made highest domestic consultancy placement offer of Rs. 32 lakh to four students. This year the students receive a signing bonus of Rs. 3 lakh. This year in current batch most of the students are having more than five years of experience. The institute is expecting a hike in the offers of about 20% as compared to last year. The placement interviews have already started in the month of January and last till first week of April. Companies visiting campus this year includes AT Kearney, McKinsey & Co, Nokia, Cognizant, Deutsche Bank , Punj Lloyd , Philips, Deloitte, Credit Suisse , HP, SAP Labs and the Boston Consulting Group.
IIM-B: Big hopes this year
This year the final placement session will start on 5th March, 2011. The institute is expecting a good placement season this year. The institute is expecting a salary hike between 15-20% this year. Till now the students received 90 offers in pre-placement session. In the lateral placement season the students have received 89 offers till now. This year banking and financial sectors may be the top draw, followed by consulting, IT services and marketing firms. Hospitality and retail majors are showing a keen interest. This year the procedure is bit different. The process may take a bit longer time, with a bigger batch size. Last year, the batch had 268 students and the placement was over in six days. "We are more cautious this year due to our batch strength," says Sapna Agarwal , head of career and development services, IIMB.
XIMB: Good hike in average salary
XIBM is one of the prestigious B-School of the country. This year XIBM institute witnessed a good placement session. This year the institute achieved 100% placement. The highest international package received by a student is $ 32,650 per year. This year the institute witnessed a good placement season and record higher pay packages. FMCG giant offers highest domestic salary of Rs. 15 lakh a year. The minimum domestic salary was recorded as Rs. 7 lakh per annum. This year students gets mixed offers such as14% students get offers from consultancy and 24% gets offers from IT sector. Some of the major recruiters this year includes Cognizant, PwC, Deloitte and Capgemini. Some egulars such as OLAM International, United Spirits , HP, TCS, Wipro and Tata Steel too visit campus.
IIFT: 10% hike in domestic salary
This year the IIFT record a good placement session. It records a hike of 10% in the domestic salary of the students. The highest domestic package went up to Rs 15.51 lakh. Olam International offers highest international package at $1,50,000. This year 96 companies participated in the placement session, including 37 new recruiters. Some of the companies that participated in the placements includes; Olam International, Aditya Birla Group, Triton Group and Jumbo Electronics, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Nomura Holdings.
