The joint entrance examination for enrolling students in PhD programmes would be held on April 29. This year, Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University, Faizabad, would conduct the examinations.
The preparations in this regard has commenced at Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University also. The examination would be conducted in 12 districts across the state. The exam forms would be available at various branches of SBI and post-offices from February 25. The last date for filling is March 20. The forms would be available to candidates of general and OBC category for Rs 800 and SC/ST candidates would pay Rs 400.
Awadh University would accept the forms of those students who have atleast 55 per cent marks in the postgraduate course. The SC and ST candidates have been given relaxation of 5 per cent.
In the first paper, the examinees would get 100 objective questions to answer. In the second paper, 200 objective questions would be asked.
A student appearing in the entrance exam would be required to score at-least 40 per cent marks in the individual papers and 50 per cent marks in the two papers collectively.
The examination would be conducted at Kanpur, Lucknow, Agra, Bareilly, Allahabad, Noida, Jaunpur, Gorakhpur and four other districts.
