Age Limit (as on 1 January 2013): Between 18 years and 25 years
Application Fee: Non-refundable Processing Fee of Rs.40 has to paid either in the form of Demand Draft or Indian Postal Order drawn in favor of 'The Assistant Personnel Officer / Railway Recruitment Cell, Chennai' payable at Chennai.
SC / ST / PWD / Minority (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Zorastrians [Parsis]) / and candidates belonging to Economically Backward Classes (family income less than Rs.50000 per annum) are exempted from payment of fees.
Educational Qualifications:
(i) For posts with Grade Pay Rs.1800/1900/2000: 10th pass or ITI or equivalent.
(ii) For posts with Grade Pay Rs.2400/2800/4200: Graduate
Those appointed as Clerk-cum-Typist should have a Typing proficiency of 30 w.p.m. in English / 25 w.p.m. in Hindi
Selection Procedure: Candidates will be considered for appointment on the basis of their performance during Trial and in the Interview.
Trials: Trials will be conducted within one month from the date of receipt of application. The Trails will be aimed at assessing candidates' game skills, physical fitness & Coach's observations during Trials.
Marking Pattern for Selection Procedure:
(i) For Assessment of recognised Sports achievements as per norms: 50 Marks
(ii) For Game-skill, Physical fitness & Coach's observations during Trials: 40 Marks
(iii) Educational Qualification: 05 Marks
(iv) General Intelligence, Personality traits and Physiological make-up: 05 Marks
Total: 100 Marks
Medical Examination: Final selection would depend on selected Sportspersons fulfilling the minimum medical norms for the post, for which he is being appointed.
Probation Period & Service Bond: Those recruited will be on probation for a period of 2 years. The performance of the sportsperson shall be reviewed before completion of the probation period.
Sportspersons recruited will have to execute a "Service Bond" for a period of 5 years.
Note
(a) The offer of appointment shall be given purely on the basis of merit and availability of vacancies. In case more than one Sportsperson score the same marks, preference will be given to younger candidate to decide the merit.
(b) The Sportspersons, who can be fitted in the Southern Railway Sports Association team, will only be considered for recruitment.
(c) The validity of the Trial is one month.
